the same yesterday, and today, and forever. 14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God. The
same was in the beginning with God. He made
all things, and without him nothing was made.
He was in the world, and he made the world,
and the world knew him not. He came unto his
own, and his own received him not. But as
many as received him, to them he gave power
to become the Children of God, even to them
that believe on his name: which were born, not
of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor the will
of man, but of God.
15 Jesus said to them, I say to you, before
Abraham was, I Am. 16 My sheep hear my
voice, and I know them, and they follow me: I
give them eternal life, and they shall never
perish, neither shall any pluck them out of my
hand. My Father, who gave me them, is greater
than all, and no man can pluck them out of my
Father's hand. I and my Father are one.
17 So beware lest any man spoils you through
philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition
