P. 57
Better is the poor that walks in his integrity
than he that is perverse in his ways, though he
is rich. Whoso keeps the law is a wise son, but
the one who is a companion of riotous men, is
the one who shames his father.
Anyone by usury and unjust gain that increases
his substance, shall gather it for him that will
pity the poor. He that turns away his ear from
hearing the law, even his prayer, shall be an
abomination. 3 So sanctify the Lord God in your
hearts: and be ready always to give an answer
to every man that asks you a reason of the
hope that is in you, with meekness and
respect, having a good conscience; though they
speak evil of you, as evildoers, they may be
ashamed falsely accusing you in Christ.
Because it is better, if the will of God be so, that
you suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
Christ has also once suffered for sins, the just
for the unjust, that he might bring us to God,
being put to death in the flesh, but made alive
by the Spirit.
