3 And when you pray, you shall not be as the
hypocrites: for they love to pray standing in the
synagogues and the corners of the streets, that
they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you,
they have their reward. But when you pray,
enter your closet, and when you have shut your

door, pray to your Father who is in secret;
and your Father who sees in secret shall

reward you openly.

4 Continue in prayer, watch with thanksgiving; 5
rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In

everything, give thanks, for this is the will of
God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench,
not the Spirit.

6 Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show

you great and mighty things, which you know
not. 7 The LORD is righteous in all his ways and
holy in all his works. The LORD is close unto all
that call upon him, to all that call upon him in
truth. He will fulfill the desires of those who
fear him: he will also hear their cry and will
save them. The LORD preserves all them that

love him: but all the wicked he will destroy.
