abiding in him. Hereby we perceive the love of
God, because he laid down his life for us: and
we ought to lay down our lives for the
brethren. But whoso has this world's good, and
sees his brother have need, and shuts up his
bowels of compassion from him, how dwells
the love of God in him? 7 As we have therefore
opportunity, let us do good unto all men,
especially unto them who are of the household
of faith. 8 If any provide not for his family, and
especially for those of his own house, he has
denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
9 Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby
you are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger,
and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away
from you, with all malice. And be kind one to
another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another,
even as God for Christ's sake has
forgiven you. 10 Because now the axe is
laid to the root of the trees: and every
tree that does not bring forth good fruit
