Repentance
1 Jesus began to preach by saying, Repent: for
the kingdom of heaven is at hand. And Jesus,
walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brothers,
Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother,
casting a net into the sea: for they were
fishermen. And he said to them, Follow me, and
I will make you fishers of men. And they
immediately left their nets, and followed him. 2
If my people, which are called by my
name, shall humble themselves, and
pray, and seek my face, and turn from their
wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and
will forgive their sin, and heal their land.
3 God overlooked this in the times of ignorance;
but now commands all men everywhere to
repent: Because he has appointed a day, in
which he will judge the world in righteousness
by that man whom he has ordained; of which
he has given assurance to all men, in that
he raised Him from the dead.
4 They said unto Peter and the rest of the
apostles, Men, and brethren, what shall we do?
