five yokes of oxen, and I want to test them:
please have me excused. Another said I have
married a wife, so I cannot come.

So that servant came and showed his Lord
these things. Then the master of the house,

being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly
into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring
in here the poor, the maimed, the lame, and
the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done
as you commanded, yet there is room.

So the Lord said to the servant, Go out into the
highways and hedges, and compel them to

come in, that my house may be filled. For I
tell you that none of those invited shall taste
my supper… whoever does not bear his cross
and follow me cannot be my disciple. 2 If any
man will come after me, let him deny himself,

and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it:
but whoever will lose his life for my sake will
save it. 3 Therefore to him that knows to do

good, and does it not, to him it is sin.
