teaching; but after their own lusts shall they
heap to themselves teachers, having itching
ears; they shall turn away their ears from the
truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 11 For
there shall arise false Christs, and false

prophets, and shall show great signs and
wonders; insomuch that, if it possible,
they shall deceive the very elect.

12 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try

the spirits whether they are of God:
because many false prophets are gone out into
the world. Hereby you know the Spirit of God:
every spirit that confesses that Jesus

Christ is come in the flesh is of God: and
every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ
has come in the flesh is not of God: this is that
spirit of antichrist, of which you have heard
should come; and now already is in the world.

You are of God, little children, and have
overcome them: for greater is he that is
